The Hunt

Carolyn thought that Grandma's backyard was too small for so many children to hunt eggs this year so we went to Cerritos' Elementary School's kindergarten playground instead. It turned out to be a perfect spot for an Easter egg hunt! Here is where Carrie and I hid three bags full of eggs.

Soon the hunters began arriving. Cameron, Natalie, Jared and Elizabeth came running with Mike Driggs and Mike Repetti walking with Ashley; Dan drove with Nathan, Sam and Lucas.

Mike and Mike lifted Nathan and Ashley over the fence so they had a head start collecting eggs. We then lined up the "older" kids and had them get ready, get set, GO!

Then the hunt was on! Luckily there were a plethora of eggs hidden to suffice any child's wildest dreams. Liz was most excited to find pink eggs and sparkly eggs.

Sam was a good hunter this year but Nathan couldn't be persuaded to hunt! He would much rather play on the playground equipment. Doesn't he know what's inside those silly eggs???

Cameron was the best hunter and helper! I saw him give Liz at least 2 eggs because they were pink and she liked them. He also helped Jared find a few well hidden ones. No doubt he also gave a few to the little guys as well.

Uncle Mike was a great helper for Ashley. Natalie didn't need help - she was one of the best hunters out there!

Liz knows that even in the middle of an Easter egg hunt, you can always stop and pose for a photo opportunity.

Finally, all of the hidden eggs were secured and their goods were surveyed.

Just in case you're wondering, YES, Lucas was there. He was just a little, um, preoccupied. His priorities were a little different than the others.
